Privacy Policy

Version 1.0.0 Active
Effective: 22 June 2026
Last Updated: 22 June 2026
Operator: CloudStry Technologies Private Limited

This Privacy Policy applies to the Rathore Sangam mobile application (Android and iOS) and any associated website (together, the "App" or "Service"), operated by Cloudstry Technologies private limited.

By creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Introduction

Rathore Sangam is a community platform built for members of the Rathore community, offering matrimony/matchmaking profiles, community news, community events, and a local business directory, along with related engagement features such as likes, comments, replies, and favourites.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we may share it with, and the rights and choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy is written to comply with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and, where applicable, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), as well as the platform requirements of the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

2. Definitions

  • "Account" means the user record created when you register on the App using your mobile number.
  • "Profile" means a matrimony/matchmaking profile created by a user, which may relate to the account holder or to a person on whose behalf the account holder is acting (e.g., a family member).
  • "Content" means any profile, business listing, event listing, news post, comment, reply, photo, or other material submitted by a user.
  • "Personal Data" means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person.
  • "Sensitive Personal Data" means categories of Personal Data that require heightened care, including community/sub-caste information, religious or astrological information, financial information, and photographs.
  • "Service Provider" means a third party that processes data on our behalf and under our instructions (e.g., cloud storage, OTP delivery).
  • "You" / "User" means any individual who accesses or uses the App.

3. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you provide directly — when you register, create or edit a Profile, create a business/event/news listing, post a comment, or contact our support team.
  • Information generated through your use of the App — such as likes, favourites, comments, and visibility preferences.
  • Information collected automatically — basic device and technical information necessary for the App and backend services to function securely (see Section 9).

We do not collect information from third-party sources, data brokers, or social media platforms. Social login (e.g., Google or Facebook sign-in) is not currently offered in the App; if introduced in the future, this Policy will be updated before that feature is enabled.

3.1 Account Information

  • Full name
  • Mobile number (used for OTP-based login/verification)
  • Email address (optional)
  • Preferred language
  • Account status and login/logout timestamps

3.2 Consent and Preference Records

  • Record of your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions at the time of account creation
  • Your contact-visibility and other privacy-control preferences (see Section 12)

4. Matrimony Information Collected

To enable matchmaking discovery and search, a Profile may include:

  • Full name, gender, date of birth (used to display computed age), height, and complexion
  • Mother tongue, sub-caste/community, and gotra details, which are collected because the matchmaking purpose of this App is specifically community- and sub-clan-oriented
  • Manglik / astrological compatibility status, collected because it is a recognized matchmaking criterion within the community this App serves
  • Family details, including parents' names and occupation, and sibling details (relation, age order, marital status)
  • Education, profession, and income range
  • A free-text personal description/bio
  • Address and contact number
  • Up to several profile photographs

Family member information. Where a Profile includes information about a parent or sibling, that information is provided by the account holder, not by the family member directly. By submitting such information, the account holder represents that they are authorized to share it for the purpose of presenting the Profile within the App. If you are a family member referenced in a Profile and have concerns about the information shown, please contact us using the details in Section 25.

Sensitive nature of this data. Sub-caste/community, religious/astrological status, and income range are treated by us as sensitive categories. We collect them only because they are functionally necessary to the matchmaking purpose of the App, and we display them to other registered users only as described in Section 12.

5. Business Listing Information Collected

If you create a business listing, we collect:

  • Business name, category, and description
  • Phone number, email address, and website (if provided)
  • Address, city/region, landmark, and precise location coordinates (used to support "nearby business" search)
  • Business hours and year established
  • Business images

Business contact details (phone, email, website, address) are shown to all registered users viewing the listing and are not subject to a visibility toggle, since the purpose of a business listing is to be discoverable and contactable.

6. Event Information Collected

If you create or interact with an event listing, we collect:

  • Event title, date, time, and description
  • Location (city/region as entered by the organizer; not GPS-based for events)
  • Event images
  • Likes, comments, and replies associated with the event

There is currently no RSVP or attendee-registration feature; event interaction is limited to browsing, liking, and commenting.

7. Community Content Information Collected

For community news posts, we collect:

  • Headline, description, and source information
  • Location (city/region)
  • News images
  • Likes, comments, and replies associated with the post

Any registered user may publish a news post; there is no separate editorial or journalist role. As with other content types, news posts are visible immediately upon publication.

8. Photos and Media

  • Profile, business, event, and news photos are uploaded by users through the App, resized on your device before upload, and stored using our cloud storage Service Provider (see Section 15).
  • Photos you upload to a Profile, business listing, event, or news post are visible to other registered users as described in Section 12.
  • We do not run facial recognition or other automated biometric analysis on uploaded photographs. Photos are stored and displayed as submitted.
  • If you delete an individual photo, or if associated content is deleted (see Sections 16–17), the corresponding image file is removed from our cloud storage, not merely hidden from view.

9. Device and Technical Information

To operate the App securely and reliably, our backend systems process limited technical information as part of normal request handling, such as:

  • App version and basic device/platform information sent with API requests
  • Authentication tokens used to keep you signed in
  • Standard server access logs (e.g., timestamps, API endpoints called, response status) retained for security and troubleshooting purposes

We do not currently use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or behavioral tracking tools. If this changes in the future (for example, if in-app advertising is introduced), we will update this Privacy Policy, our Google Play Data Safety disclosure, and our Apple App Privacy labels before such a feature becomes active.

10. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and manage your Account
  • Verify your identity via OTP at login and registration
  • Enable you to create, search, and view matrimony Profiles, business listings, events, and news
  • Display Content to other registered users in accordance with your privacy settings
  • Operate engagement features such as likes, comments, replies, and favourites
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the App, including rate-limiting abusive requests and detecting misuse
  • Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms and Conditions
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your Personal Data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your Personal Data.

11. User Consent

  • Consent at registration. Before an account can be created, you are required to affirmatively agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions. Account creation cannot proceed without this acceptance.
  • Purpose-specific understanding. By completing a matrimony Profile, you acknowledge that sensitive details you choose to enter (community/sub-caste, manglik status, income range, family details) will be visible to other registered users as described in Section 12, for the matchmaking purpose of the App.
  • Withdrawing consent. You may withdraw consent for further processing by requesting account deletion (Section 17). Withdrawing consent will result in the App no longer being usable, since core functionality depends on the data described in this Policy.
  • Optional information. Fields marked optional in the App (such as email address) may be left blank without affecting your ability to use core features, except where a feature specifically depends on that field.

12. Information Visibility and Privacy Controls

By design, most Profile, business, event, and news Content is visible to other registered, signed-in users of the App within the same community deployment, because the App's purpose is discovery (finding a match, finding a business, learning about local events and news). The App does not currently offer an anonymous "guest browse" mode — you must create an account to view Content.

Default visibility:

  • Profile fields such as name, age, height, complexion, mother tongue, sub-caste/gotra, manglik status, family details, education, profession, income range, bio, and photographs are visible to other registered users.
  • Business, event, and news listings are visible in full to all registered users, as their purpose is public discovery.
  • Likes, comments, and reply text (including the commenter's display name) are visible to other registered users.
  • Your email address is never displayed to other users on any Profile or listing.

Visibility you control:

  • You can control whether your contact number is shown to other users via your Profile's contact-visibility setting (see Section 13).
  • You can control other granular visibility preferences made available in the Profile settings of the App, where applicable to specific fields.
  • Your Favourites list is always private and is never visible to other users.

We encourage you to review your Profile's visibility settings before publishing sensitive information, and to only include details you are comfortable sharing with other community members.

13. Hide Contact Details Feature

Rathore Sangam intentionally does not include a traditional "block user" feature. This is a deliberate product decision made in consultation with the community: members of the Rathore community frequently continue conversations outside the App (for example, over WhatsApp or phone calls) once initial contact is made, and a blocking feature designed for purely in-app messaging does not map well to how this community actually communicates.

Instead, your primary tool for protecting your contact information is the Hide Contact Details setting:

  • When enabled on your Profile, your phone number and other contact details are hidden from other users viewing your Profile.
  • Other users cannot retrieve your phone number or other contact methods through the App while this setting is enabled.
  • This setting can be turned on or off by you at any time from your Profile.

We recommend enabling Hide Contact Details if you do not wish to be contacted directly, and only disclosing your contact number once you are comfortable doing so. Because the App does not operate an in-app messaging system, all direct communication between users occurs through contact details that a user has chosen to make visible — enabling this setting is the most effective way to control who can reach you.

If you experience harassment or misuse of contact information obtained through the App, please contact us using the details in Section 25 so we can review the matter.

14. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With other users, to the extent your Content and Profile fields are visible under Section 12 and your own visibility settings.
  • With Service Providers who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations (Section 15).
  • For legal reasons, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid request from a government or regulatory authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or the Company.
  • In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy continuing to apply to the transferred data, with notice provided to users where required by law.

We do not share Sensitive Personal Data (community/sub-caste, religious/astrological status, income range) with any party other than as described above and as necessary to operate the matchmaking features of the App.

15. Service Providers

We currently rely on the following categories of third-party Service Providers to operate the App. Each Service Provider receives only the data necessary to perform its function and is contractually restricted from using your data for any other purpose.

Service Provider Category Purpose Data Received
OTP / SMS verification provider Sends and verifies one-time passcodes for login and registration Mobile number
Cloud object storage provider (AWS S3 or S3-compatible storage) Stores uploaded photographs and images Image files
Database hosting Stores application data described in this Policy All data described in Sections 3–9

We do not currently integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media SDKs. If we begin using such services in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy in advance and, where required, request your consent.

During the current testing phase, some of the above services may run on staging or pre-production infrastructure operated by the same providers, rather than final production infrastructure. Data handling practices described in this Policy apply equally to testing and production environments.

16. Data Retention

  • We retain Account and Profile data for as long as your account remains active and for the period described in Section 17 if you request deletion.
  • Content you delete (a Profile, business listing, event, or news post) is removed from public view immediately. Associated media files are deleted from storage as part of that deletion process; we do not retain orphaned copies of removed images.
  • Comments and replies that are deleted are removed from public display; if you delete your account, your historical comments and replies are deleted or anonymized as part of the account deletion process described in Section 17.
  • We may retain limited information for a longer period where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

17. Account Deletion and Recovery Process

You may request deletion of your account at any time through the App's account settings, or by contacting us using the details in Section 25.

The deletion process works as follows:

  1. Request received. Once you request deletion, your account is immediately marked for deletion.
  2. Immediate effect. Your Profile becomes unavailable to other users right away — other users can no longer view, search for, or contact you through the App.
  3. 7-day recovery window. For your protection against accidental or unauthorized deletion requests, your account enters a 7-day recovery period. If you log back in during this window, you may cancel the deletion request and restore your account.
  4. Permanent deletion. If you do not return within the 7-day recovery period, your account is permanently deleted. This includes:
    • Permanent deletion of your personal data (name, mobile number, email, and Profile details)
    • Removal of content you created (Profiles, listings, posts, comments, and replies, or their anonymization where deletion would affect other users' content threads)
    • Permanent deletion of associated media files (photographs) from our cloud storage

Once the 7-day window has elapsed and permanent deletion has occurred, your data cannot be recovered.

If you only wish to stop using the App without permanently deleting your data, you may simply stop logging in; your data will be retained under Section 16 unless and until you submit a deletion request.

18. Security Measures

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your Personal Data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit between the App and our servers using HTTPS/TLS
  • OTP-based authentication (no passwords are stored)
  • Rate limiting on authentication and OTP-related endpoints to reduce the risk of abuse and brute-force attempts
  • Server-side session expiration: sessions automatically expire and require re-authentication after 7 days of inactivity
  • Access to backend infrastructure restricted to authorized personnel

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We continually work to improve our security practices as the App evolves, including during the current testing phase.

19. User Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your Personal Data:

  • Right to access the Personal Data we hold about you
  • Right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete data (most Profile, business, event, and news fields can be edited directly within the App)
  • Right to deletion of your account and associated data, as described in Section 17
  • Right to withdraw consent to further processing, recognizing that this may make the App unusable

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 25. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

20. Children's Privacy

Rathore Sangam is intended for adult use in connection with matrimony and community engagement, and is not directed at children. We require users to be at least 18 years of age to create an account. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will take steps to delete the associated account and data. If you believe a minor has registered on the App, please contact us using the details in Section 25.

21. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The App itself does not use browser cookies, as it is a mobile application. If we publish a companion website, that website may use limited, strictly necessary cookies for functionality (e.g., remembering display preferences). We do not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this section and provide any consent mechanisms required by applicable law.

22. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the limited set of third-party services described in Section 15 (OTP delivery and cloud storage). The App does not currently integrate:

  • Social media login (Google/Facebook sign-in buttons are not present in the current release)
  • Mapping services (location-based business search uses internal geolocation queries, not a third-party maps SDK)
  • Payment processors (the App does not process payments)
  • Advertising networks (no ad SDK is currently active)
  • Third-party analytics platforms

If any of these integrations are added in a future release, we will update this Privacy Policy, and our Google Play Data Safety and Apple App Privacy disclosures, before the relevant feature is activated.

23. International Data Transfers

Our data storage and processing infrastructure may be hosted in data centers located outside your country of residence. Where we transfer Personal Data across borders, we take steps intended to ensure that the data continues to be protected in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

24. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or legal requirements. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy when changes are made. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
